John P. Christiano is one of the foremost technology experts in the global extrusion industry. With research that spans more than three decades, Christiano has published numerous papers on feedscrew engineering and development and holds several patents on feedscrew design for single screw extruders. He has been a regular presenter at ANTEC, RETEC and TAPPI conferences and meetings, and is a proud member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).
As vice president of extrusion technology for Davis-Standard, LLC, he is responsible for process engineering applications and new product development company-wide. This encompasses ongoing feedscrew innovation, experimentation with the latest resins, advances in high-speed and direct-drive technology, and heating and cooling efficiencies to improve line performance. Christiano has also been instrumental in spearheading Davis-Standard’s global R&D capabilities that support process development and optimal processing conditions for customers worldwide.
He received bachelor and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in management science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
